If you are 50+, and have a regular income from pensions, etc. exceeding 800,000 baht per year, then there is absolutely no need to connect with one of these shops. The process is simple and straightforward, and is quite a bit cheaper.

A comprehensive guide can be found at http://www.pattayacityexpatsclub.com/expats/visa.html

It's legal if they are only holding your hand during a regular retirement extension application.

It's not legal if (as I suspect) it's a scheme where it is made to APPEAR as if you've had a Thai bank account over 800K baht for two months prior to application for retirement extension.

So why not ask for more details of the service they offer?

If it's only for the hand holding, you would be paying too much, as most people can handle everything without any paid help at all.
