ED Visa: Leave before midnight?

Hi everyone,

So i am wondering how long you have to leave the country after finishing your studies on an ED visa? I am studying at university, but i think it should be the same for all people on ED visa. I shall ask my university, but they are a bit ... ... with giving correct and consistent answers about anything, so i can't really rely on what they say.

I know that people working here must leave by midnight when their employment ends, right? Is this the same with students? I would prefer not to be in overstay at all, if possible.

If conditions for an extensions of stay cease, you can get 7 days extension to leave country.

You should also read what happens in practice because from what I know normally it's not like school rush to notify Immigration that your study have finished.

I have never heard of anybody being stopped when leaving the country that had an extension based upon going to school as long as there permit to to stay was still valid.

I don't think schools notify immigration when you stop going to school.
