Can any one help with the following I visit Thailand 4 times a year I enter on a Visa Exemption 30 Days ( 120 Days )

I have approximately 75 days ( 2 .5 Months ) between visits

I have never done a border run for extension of stay

I have never exceeded the 30 days allowed

I am booked to return at the end of this month ? Is this advisable to do so?

why dont u get a tourist visa?

?

Why?

He is not planning on staying for more than 30 days,

He dos not fit the out/in profile immigration will be looking for. That is leaving and re-entering for no other purpose than to get another 30 day exempt entry after just having one.

He will have no problem on entry.

To be safe in this extremely volatile time. Remember the 28/28 guys that were refused entry at the airport a few days ago!

I wonder if the Thai embassies are geared up for an influx of possible visa enquiries!

i dont expect he will but i sense he is nervous and spending a few bucks to show how serious he is cant hurt.

I have seen no confirmed report of a person on a 28/28 rotation being denied entry. There was one that was questioned.

Agree...lots of chains being pulled...someone is having allot of fun! Like I posted elsewhere, 30k+ Swampy/DM entries a day...if any significant numbers were being turned away, the mainstream press would be all over it and there would be really verified posts here on T-V. My own uneventful entry last nite bares this out.

More info on your entry. Number of back to backs. Timing etc.. as has been said before. It's down to the individual immigration officer. I'm hoping that people like your self and others on marriage visa's aren't going to be affected.

He shouldn't be having a problem given what he has posted. There will always be a chance that one immigration individual could make it difficult, but he isn't really fitting the demographic of what they are targeting

Presuming he doesn't try to clear immigration in krabi ??

I would get the tr.. Just for insurance sake.

Remember the 28/28 guys that were refused entry at the airport a few days ago!

Where did you read that please?

Several times that some people report this case, but I can't find the topic on TV ??

Many subjects about 28/28 or offshore workers, but no refuse that I read...

I mentioned the friend of a friend.. I know the first friend well.. I do not know at all, his friend.

What I understand is he was denied in Bangkok, but lives on Phuket... When I pressed for more details it was hard to get them as it seems the person denied has not got back home to Phuket, hence comms seemed strained.

Until I either get to have contact with the person denied, I consider it rumor.. But my buddy is adamant his mate was not allowed back from rotation.

For what he need a tourist visa if he never stays longer than 30 days? Makes no sence to me. But what makes sence at the moment with this unclear and unsecure visa rules in Thailand...

There was an unverified report of a group of English teachers trying to enter Thailand on tourist visas issued in Penang being turned back at one of the southern land border crossings. Of course, it it did happen, it was completely appropriate.

Why? Maybe they were coming for proper jobs and were ready to get the visa's changed to ext of stay and acquire work permits!

They probably had a history of multiple tourist visas in their passports, and somehow never found the time to convert them to non-imms and get work permits, so the officer made a determination that they don't intend too so they were refused entry. I would presume if it was their first tourist visa (or second if some time separation) and they said they were coming to look for employment they probably would have not had a problem.

True enough .. but generalization is not a good thing .. I'm really confused at all the different reasons given for this clampdown. Because of concurrent changes to teachers license rules my 6 years worth of back to back ext of stay and work permits are now very much in jeopardy and I probably will not be getting another .. yet that's exactly what they want teachers to have .. crazy!

Why is that? This crackdown has nothing to do with people with visas and work permits.
