A Good Private-Practice Opthamologist

Featured Replies

Looking for a good Opthamologist who has a private practice and speaks English, not an optometrist, an M.D. Opthamologist, and not one of the "in training" fly-by-nighters at the hospitals.

Any suggestions based on personal experience?

Thanks for your help.

I've seen Dr. Attaporn Suwannik at Bangkok Hospital for a few years. She is a retinal specialist and she has treated me for the wet form of macular degeneration. This included a series of cancer med injections directly into the eye over a period of one year to reduce/stop sub-retinal bleeding. Based on my experience, she is excellent.

The best in Thailand would be at Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok ... the Queen has been treated there and it is considered the all around best, but assuming you would prefer to be treated in Pattaya, I would have no reservations in recommending Dr. Attaporn.

I don't believe BHP employs fly-by-night doctors in training generally. I've never encountered anyone there who could be labeled as such and Dr. Attaporn is definitely not "in training."

Dr. Jitlada at Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4. Had a couple of minor issues and she took care of them straight away.
