Does anyone know the Thai for the following vegetables (fruits):

1.  Paprika pepper

2.  Cayenne pepper

Thanks for your help.

Paprika is พริกหวาน (literal meaning: sweet chili)

Cayenne pepper appears to be called phonetically in Thai as พริกคาเยน

Dear Mole,

Thank you for your information.

I think that is the closest we can get to the Thai word for paprika.  Although slightly different, it is in the capsicum family  (พริกหวาน).

Also, พริกคาเยน will be easily understood as cayenne pepper.

Thank you for your help.

Mole, are you confusing "paprika" with "capsicum"? I'm pretty sure พริกหวาน is capsicum (a.k.a. "bell pepper" in American).

Paprika, according to once source is พาพริกา and another is ปาปริก้า. However, the latter spelling is much, much more common.

Yes, I thought she meant bell peppers because in many European languages, bell peppers are called "paprika". พริกหวาน is bell peppers.

As for "paprika pepper" in Thai, they're just called phonetically as well as พริกปาปริก้า
