Khon Kaen Airport Taxis

Featured Replies

Yesterday I was in the unusual situation of needing a taxi from the airport into town, and was told by the taxi desk in arrivals that the cars don't use their meters.  I was quoted 200 baht to go just past the crossroads with Highway 2 - a pretty short journey. This seems above Bangkok prices.  Does anybody know whether any KKC airport taxis do use their meters?

You probably came in contact with the "airport taxi mafia". Most airports in Thailand, from what I heard, except Bangkok and currently Ubon do not allow metered Taxis on their premisses. That way they try to force you to use their service at an unbelievable rate. Usually the metered Taxis are waiting outside the airport by the entrance...you would have to walk there.
