need some visa advise for 6 -12 month stay

Featured Replies

just after some advise, i will be in thailand in january for 6-12 months,i wont be working and have enough cash to last me comfortably while i am there, i am not prepared to pay for an elite card as its something i dont really need. i am willing to say join a thai language course and get and ed visa (and would actually attend the classes as i would find learning more thai handy)

what would people suggest are the best visa options for myself as i am technically a tourist , i will just be staying a lot longer than your average tourist.if i got multiple entry visas etc and did" border runs" would i be classed as a border runner and get an in out stamp if i did it that way , or would i need to stay out of teh country say for 5-7 days like a mini holiday from my holiday .yes i know i havent articulated myself well but i kinda think it fits with the confusion surrounding the whole visa situation at the moment , lol.

any advise would be gratefully recieved .

triple entry tourist with extensions would get you close to 270 days

ED visa seems right for you. No need to travel and you learn the language, can't ask for more.

I would not recommend serial tourist visa and border hops because having to travel for no pleasure but bureaucracy is absurd and not worth it.

The emphasis of public pronouncements of senior immigration officers has been: "Plan your trip and get the correct visa." 12 months is 100% longer than 6 months and "6-12 months" does not look like a real plan, does it? Can you improve your plan, narrowing down the period of your planned stay?
