The 1994 final was the most boring in the history of the tournament (0-0 then to penalties) thanks to the boring, negative approach the Italians took and now they are there again.

not surprising, germany lost. kinda same thing with the english going out and they go finding scapegoats to print full colour pages on "The Sun"

I'd recommend switching channels on your tv set to something else that might seem worth watching come this early monday morning or just sleep it off.

and really did you watch the same match i did between italy and germany? was totally a wonderful game. boring?? i don't think so.

Oh the Joy to see the Germans crash out made my night (early morning).

I thought it was a great game and the Italians played much better than the Germans.

But near the end thinking bloody Germans will steal it again as alway. This time they did not.

BTW - that time in '94 semi-finals they (Germans) also won on penalties against "THE BEST HIGH CLASS EURO TEAM" (guess who, chonabot ?

once again - I'm glad that Germany lost and out ! Klose shouldn't have kicked Argentinian goalie in the ribs amd especially get away with it without even yellow card but rather come out as a hero who's scored the ONLY goal in whole match (barely preventing Germany from being ousted already that time, before even reaching semis). and even that he could do ONLY after injured guy was replaced bty less experienced and younger substitute !

I think France (if they make it, which I think they have a good chance to) will show a good play. Italy last night played well too. at leas they were able to take ball from Germans sooooo easily most of times - like from children. and they did that almost without fouls - Germans were those who's commited most of fouls.

Portugese might prove being a "dark horse" though - their coach Scolari is worth to be considerate about.

i never said switzerland are a high class team, i think they're far from it. switzerland are a low class team, just like ukraine, ghana, ecuador, etc. these teams may have good runs at some world cups, but they don't have a a proven stable record of performing well, like germany, england, brazil, etc. i'm not stating "high class" teams have to become world champions every year, but just perform well generally.

another team i thought was "high class" is argentina, until they started a fist fight in their game against germany. they missed their penalties (2 of them) and deserved to lose, just like switzerland (who missed 3), but they were bad losers and that dropped them into the lowest class in my books.

I mean, if the whole idea of this tournament was - who PERFORMS (not scores) better, perhaps it would be organised in entirely different fashion, and final won't even matter - in the sense "who scores more goals" - right? perhaps England (or who was another one playing "beautifull football" this time?) would have bee champs already even though they are out, not the one who'll win match on July 9th ?

Argentina was and actually still is my second favorite after Brazil. I don't care that they had fighting with Germans - that German guy provoked them. yes, they could and probably should / must have accepted defeat with better attitude. say, Brazil, didn't fight. but I prefectly understand them - they felt somewhat cheated. their golakeeper was REALY injured (I wonder - was it intentional?), no punishment done to responsible person (Klose), because of that less experienced goalkeeper has let balls hit their net. AND after all this - some bastard was trying to shush them up - like "shut the <deleted> up, you loosers".

I am surprised you are quick to judge Argentinian side and justify the actions of that German guy, as well as German manager who's jumped into melee.

Must admit the Italians were the better Team, but imagine a final Italy-England, I guess the English would pay dearly.

Italy played very concentrated and deserved the win.

Hope for a final Italy against France, of course Germany-Brazil,Argentina-Brazil or Argentina-France sounds better , but we will enjoy a good game.

about 70-pages threads.... (BTW - the RAIN.... - was it yours? classic !)

oh, well - now, THAT is the criteria - who makes more long threads, right? alright - you are better than me, you win and I loose - satisfied?

if you wanna know - I am neither keen on starting many pages treads nor having a lot of posts. as you can see even Rainman who's joined 2 months after me, has more than twice number of posts than me, not to speak of some others, who perhaps have more posts than you, while joined only a year ago or less.

I do not worship Rianman (as you said you do), but I said the truth - I like his attitude, although not necessarily agree with all his opinions and statements. but then - it is natural, people tend to defer. another thing is - at least he manages to keep it within margins of point itself, not jumps to personal attacks. at least so far I haven't seen such.

and I am merely speaking up my mind as he does.

now, back to the topic - Italy, not Germany is in the final !
