12 Month Re-Entry Visa Invalid?

Featured Replies

While in Thailand I applied and got a 12 month re-entry visa, however, I had to leave Thailand during my first 90 day period. This 90 day period is about to expire while I am back home however I am going back to Thailand in October. I was wondering if anyone knows If my visa will still be valid when I return and whether or not I have to apply for some paper work before I return? Or will my visa be invalid and I will have to start again?

Apologies if something similar has been asked before but i looked and could not find any answers.

Thanks in advance, Dave.

You had got an extensions of stay, not a visa.

Since you have not obtained a re-entry permit before leaving, the extension has been cancelled at the time you have left Thailand

I actually have a re-entry permit that is valid up until august 25th. Do you know if I can get an extension on my re-entry permit from england?

Re-entry permit expires august 25th.

No, you cannot get an extension on your re-entry permit.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

You can not get an extension anywhere outside of Thailand. However you may return to Thailand before the expiry date of August 25, and you will get 90 days. You will then need to re apply for whatever extension you have and of course make sure you have the multi entry permit included.

Good luck

This is not so. If the OP has an extension of permission to stay for 12 months, then if he returns before August 25th he will be given permission to stay until the end of this extension period. It is not 90 days!

The terms used here are all confused. If the OP has an extension , valid for 12 months, then there are no 90 day entry periods applicable. The OP can stay an entire year without leaving the country if he wants. There is no 90 day period involved once you have a 12 month extension.

I think he is confusing the 90-day report with a 90 day permission to stay. This is incorrect. The 90-day report is just to report your address - it does not keep your permission to stay active and is not connected with it. Once you have been given an annual extension of stay, then you can stay for a year-this permission has already been given and is not dependent on you making 90-day reports.

I do not understand why the re-entry permit expires on 25th August. When you get a re-entry permit it is valid until the last day of your permission to stay, so the OP should not have a problem, unless his extension expires on 25th August?

This is all very unclear, but if the OP really does have a re-entry permit he should be able to re-enter anytime during the 'permitted to stay' period of the annual extension.
