South Pattaya Bar raided, British Owner confronts journalists at Police Station

PATTAYA:--In the early hours of Friday a South Pattaya Go-Go Bar was raided for the second time in a month following an alleged complaint regarding shows of an explicit nature which may have been taking place in the venue.

Officers conducted a raid of the Windmill Club in Soi Diamond off Walking Street and detained 9 female performers and the Thai Manager Khun Suwat aged 31. They were taken to Pattaya Police Station where the performers were fined 500 Baht each and the Thai Manager was subject to further investigation by Police. No further action was taken against the bar and all licenses were found to be in-order.

While the performers were being processed the British owner of the club, Mr. David Hamilton aged 55, arrived and was angry at the journalists who were covering the story.

He produced his Smart Phone and began to film the journalists who were not concerned until he allegedly used a Safety Helmet he was carrying in a threatening manner towards some of the reporters.

Troll post removed

I have not been in there in recent times but sounds just like when I have been in there in the past, what went on then was illegal and no one battered an eye lid, it was common knowledge, two raids and the bar owner thinks he is being victimised, I do not think so as he is still trading, just a warning that laws are now being enforced, and more to the point it is not him that is being targeted but the corrupt police and other officials that took bribes to allow these places to openly trade live sex shows.

That's about 3 mini-fruit-shows.

Wish I'd have gone there 24 hours later to catch the raid.

One of the best a-go-go places I have been to in Pattaya. Great shows and great ladies. (where is the drool icon when you need it?)

Fully realizing that the person was named in the news article, we have to be careful and the posts above were removed due to this forum rule ....

6) You will not post comments that could be reasonably construed as defamation or libel.

Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person to suffer harm. It does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either in a drawing, painting, cinematography, film, picture or letters made visible by any means, or any other recording instruments, recording picture or letters, or by broadcasting or spreading picture, or by propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand.
Two more posts deleted. One continued the defamatory comments and the other publicly discussed moderator actions which the forum does not allow. You can take it up in PM's if you wish.

It's simple. The junta can just ban all shows of an 'explicit nature' in Thailand. We fellas just come to Thailand for the beaches and temples anyway,

You might be surprised at the actual percentage of "sex tourists" vs. normal tourists. It is a very low percentage I'm sure. There are only three, 1,2,3,....."bars" on Walking Street with "shows" like the "bar" named here. Hardly a factor in the overall picture. It's over mate. The internet has taken over the "sex" industry. Beaches and temples are all that are left.
