Confused with my visa..Help

Featured Replies

I am holding a tourist visa 60 days.. It expires on 5 September, but i leave country 11 september.. But due to weekday courses, i cant go to immigration in Chaing Mai, where i live.. If i go to Mae Sai on weekend, is it possible to renew my visa ?

go to immigration to get an extension or leave and hope to get a visa exemption on the way back in

Extensions can only be done at an immigration office and in the weekends they are closed. That only leaves the option for a border run at Mai Sai, which should be no problem. Your nationality will determine if you can do this and how many days you can do when re-entering.

Thanks for your quick reply.. My nationality is Greek-European.. I am a bit confused because of news laws..You think in Mae Sai they going to renew my visa ?

You will get a 15 day visa exempt entry when you do the crossing at Mae Sai. You will not have a problem getting it because it will be your first one.

No, they will not renew your visa.

But at the border in Mai Sai you can cross into Mayanmar and return to Thailand. Upon return to Thailand immigration will give you a stamp giving you 15 days to stay in Thailand.

Take proof of your ticket out of Thailand on the 11th with you.
