dependent visa for foreign spouse

Featured Replies

Hello

I am an engineer by profession and  have got an exciting job in  Thailand. My company is working to  get my non immigrant B visa processed.

I would like to know the visa rules for my spouse, so that she can live with me in Thailand. What type of visa applies to my wife?

Both me and my wife are Indian citizens. I would   greatly appreciate  any info on this issue

Thanks Regards

I.G.

She would have to apply for a Non-imm 'O' visa as your spouse, together with you.

When you will apply in Thailand for extensions of stay, she will do the same.

Your wife should apply for a non-o visa as your dependent. Then after you have your extension of stay she will be able get one as your dependent.

Thank  you  very much for your comments.

So O-visa  does not require  the spouse to be Thai.

Even if  both myself and my spouse are Indian citizens, O-visa is still applicable to spouse. Kindly confirm .

Thank you

Thailand visa are destined to foreigners of any nationality.
You and your spouse will each receive the appropriate type of non-immigrant visa, and subsequent extensions.

Per above, it doesn't matter.

I would ask the company to write a letter confirming that you will work in Thailand and asking for a visa for your wife so she can accompany you. It might make things go a little bit smoother.
