Germany's Bosch expands in Asia-Pacific

Company boosts its investment to Bt142 bn since 2010

BANGKOK: -- Bosch, a German vendor of technologies and services, will have invested 3.3 billion euros (Bt142 billion) in the Asia-Pacific region since 2010 in areas including local manufacturing, product management and engineering. The Asia-Pacific continues to be the top growth region for Bosch, more than doubling to 11 billion euros over the past 10 years, Peter Tyroller, a member of the board of management, said yesterday.

"By 2020, we aim to double our sales in the region once again. Our investments in the coming years in Asia-Pacific will remain at a high level, and we will further intensify our localisation efforts," he said.

The recently opened plant in Thailand for automotive products for petrol systems is scheduled to expand to chassis systems this year.

Bosch sees a high share of local supply as the key success factor for continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The German company is continuously expanding its footprint in this region. It has a presence in 16 countries in Asia and the Pacific, with 120 locations and 52 manufacturing facilities.

Robert Bosch (South East Asia) is a subsidiary representing the group's interests in all countries of Asean.

In fiscal 2013, the regional headquarters in Singapore employed more than 650 associates and generated 227 million Singapore dollars (Bt5.85 billion) in sales.

Last year, Bosch focused on expanding its manufacturing capacity for auto components by creating an Asia-Pacific-wide production and engineering hub for auto aftermarket parts in China, where also a plant and a testing facility for driver assistance and safety products were opened.

In the fast-growing Southeast Asia region, Bosch extended its footprint with offices in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines and a representative office in Myanmar.

In Vietnam, Bosch plans to invest more than 160 million euros over three years to expand its production site for pushbelts for continuously variable transmissions in autos and recently opened an automotive research-and-development centre.

As part of Bosch's localisation strategy, talents will continue to play a crucial role for further growth in the region. This year, it expects headcount requirements to increase in the Asia-Pacific region, where the company employs more than 73,000 associates.

By year-end, Bosch will have some 45,000 R&D associates worldwide. Of these, about 17,000 will be in the 24 R&D facilities in the Asia-Pacific region - 2,000 more than at the start of the year.

Very good quality for sure.

 I freaking need almost all they produce. From Starters, Alternators, Diesel Pumps., both Types- BRAKE PADS- BRAKE SHOES- BREAK CYLINDERS-Fuel Injectors. Then the technical breakthrough. Nowadays, wiper blades, fuel injectors, spark plugs, etc. from Bosch and a highly computer supported company. 

 

 

Unfortunately, did they realize that expanding to all European countries, plus neighbors.When you buy a genuine part, you can be sure that you won't have a problem with it.
