Where do Thais Stay in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Where do local Thais stay when they come for holidays in Pattaya. Do they stay in farang owned budget hotels?

They live about everywhere depeding on their budget.

Sure not that many in the centre of the redlights (Walking Street, Soi Buakhao etc.).

Jomtien is a prefered place for Thai weekenders.

Generally Thai families are not much up for Pattaya, but have other places on the east coast nearby.

So I guess many of them only do daytime excursions and sleep at other places.

"farang owned budget hotels" is a bit misleading.

Nothing is farang owned, just mainly frequented by farangs.

My favourite farang budget hotel is owned by a famliy of Chinese origin living on the premises.

Mostly in 5 stars hotels, at least the ones I know :-)

They stay any place that let's them jam 10 people into a room.

Sorry, I meant farang run hotel. From the replies, I guess they avoid areas like Walking street and customers of farang run hotels mainly gets its customers from foreign tourists. That is why so many are suffering from the lack of tourists these few months.

They fill up the various short time hotels, especially those located off third road. Or, as mentioned, the nice hotels. Like any third world country, you have the rich and the poor, not many in between...

Thai down our way always stops in soi 27 Naklua Road.......
