Dog the Bounty Hunter issues ultimatum to MMA fighter War Machine over assault

MELBOURNE: -- They sound like characters from a bad action film. There's Dog the Bounty Hunter, who has publicly vowed to track down a fugitive mixed martial arts fighter named War Machine, who is accused of a vicious assault on his ex-girlfriend.

But that is the ugly situation confronting police in the US state of Las Vegas, who have issued an arrest warrant for 32-year-old War Machine after his ex-girlfriend posted images of her battered face and body on social media.

Police say War Machine, who was formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver until he legally changed his name in 2008, is wanted on suspicion of domestic battery, strangulation, lewdness, assault and coercion in the alleged attack early on Friday.

Both War Machine and his ex-girlfriend, Christy Mack, are porn actors, and broke up in May, while War Machine previously appeared on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Ms Mack posted photographs and a statement about the alleged attack on her official Twitter account on Monday, saying War Machine had beaten her so severely that she feared for her life.

The attack left her with broken bones, a ruptured liver, missing teeth and swelling and bruising all over her body, she claimed. She said there was a $10,000 reward for his capture.

While police have issued a warrant for War Machine's arrest, that was not enough for Duane "Dog" Chapman, who features in the reality television show Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Las Vegas may be a state of mind but it certainly is not a US state.

City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada

Sounds almost like a silly set up so they can have a go at it in the ring...

What a freak show... why is it that we pay attention to these people??

As I type that comment, I realize that I was drawn to the bizarre title of the article, and read it from beginning to end...

Despite the idiotic names and "professions" of the people involved, one thing is clear: Any man who beats women is a coward and @$$#ole that deserves to be removed from public indefinitely.

This is pretty bad. WTH is wrong with this guy to do this to a woman. After breaking a few bones, I am sure there was no reason to continue breaking bones until he got to 18. Arresting this POS does not seem like justice.

Any woman who hooks up with an MMA fighter/porn actor who has his name legally changed to War Machine, should not be surprised that he is violent.

It doesn't excuse him in any way....just saying she shouldn't be surprised.

It's definitely not a set up judging by these photos of her in a hospital bed... http://www.bjpenn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/christy-mack-injuries.png

We have to pay attention to these people / this "freak show" because domestic violence towards anyone regardless of their celebrity status or gender is is not acceptable. Even though it was a horrific accident this situation will hopefully educate people on abuse or help those in a similar situation seek help.

I don't think it's a set up either, these folks are nuts enough for this all to be true. I was just saying that it almost seems like one.

if i was a war machine i'd probably thank my lucky stars to go with dog the bounty hunter rather than risk the possibility of resisting arrest with the real police. never seen dog zap anyone repeatedly.....

who is dog the bounty hunter to have any kind of response quoted in this story? what did the cast of csi:miami say about the assault...

Let's hope Dog goes after him and the a-hole resists arrest and gives Dog a good excuse for a little payback on the poor woman's behalf....

whist his mans heat is in the right, place this man, (Dog)  is going to get seriously hurt one day from real criminals.

Google "bounty Hunter" and read the hits.

Here is the first one that came up:

But if a woman came at you with a knife in a heated altercation you would let her repeatedly stab you to death, is what you are implying.

Have you ever read the real domestic violence statistics.

The statistics that debunk the myth that women are passive and non aggressive and are always the victims of male violence in domestic disputes.

Just saying and not defending the guy who is being charged and sough after...rather just pointing out that maybe  the events is not so black and white

whist his mans heat is in the right, place this man, (Dog)  is going to get seriously hurt one day from real criminals.

That is exactly what it is.  See it on pay per view!

Renewed contracts for all!

Regardless of the absurdity and drama of this episode, people who hit women like this need to be seriously dealt with. When someone has fame or notoriety it is more important to make an example out of them; this is a force multiplier for law enforcement. In those exceptional cases where a woman needs to be disabled from hurting another, or the man, do the minimum and no more. It takes no semblance of a man to beat a woman. A man has greater evidence of character when he restrains such actions. (Having said this I have met women in NY and elsewhere that are violent, deadly, and will up in your face assault and hurt you unless you run or respond).
