Shop for cheap mp3 player - Patong area?

I'm looking for a dirt-cheap mp3 player (1000 Baht or so) - I'm going on a long journey and I want to have some music.

Does anybody know a shop around the Patong area that would sell me an mp3 player at a reasonable price? Failing that, knowing about a good electronics shop anywhere in Phuket would be helpful.

i would not buy the cheap one. I did that and it only lasted 2-3 months. Prior to that i an ipod nano with lasted 5 years. Learned my lesson on the cheap one and bought another Ipod nano 16g only 5000B Very small great Ipod, bluetooth too.

Sandisk makes a mp3 player called Sansa which is really simple and cheap but has great quality. Hopefully its available somewhere, some online shops have them for sure.

Look in your phone - if it less than 10 years old, it most probably has the MP3 player built in. One less device to carry with you and one less to charge as well. Also, should you receive a call while listening to music, the phone will cut the music, with a separate player you will miss the call.

The Transcend M330 is good value and really durable. It's tiny, easy to charge and can store 8gigs.
