Hi everyone, I am a 21 y/o, female from Switzerland. I m student (4th years) in a multimedia school, Apple Center in Europa :

I m looking for a 6 months training course in a web or graphic design company for endind my education. I would like to find a company who employ trainee in BKK. I think living by my own and working in a foreign country will make me stronger, open my mind...It could be a great experience! I would love to come in Thailand cause I've been twice there and I want discover more this beautifull country. And also because life's cheap and I don't expect to get paid a lot...(or simply to get paid! ) :o

But I did'nt think it could be so difficult to find a 6 months training courses...begin to give up hope

:D

I wonder if somebody has advice for me or better, runs or knows a web design company in Bangkok or everywhere else in Thailand who may emploi trainee?

I’ve skills in graphic design (drawing, computer drawing, photography…) web design ( html CSS, Action Script, php,…), Video (shoot, cut), 3D (modelling and animation)

I m able to use photoshop, illustrator, indesign, dreamweaver, flash, finalCut, after FX, maya….

I’ve done a few training in graphic, web and engineering design companies in Switzerland and Europa and I also have real works experiences.

I speak French (mother tongue), English (good knowledge) and German (basic knowledge). I m building my online portfolio, I would be glad to send the cd-rom’s version if somebody would be interested.

Thanks! Regards from Switzerland! :D

Unfortunately, it may be easier to just find a job with the skills that you have, learn on the job, and quit after 6 months.

There aren't too many foreigners here who have web and graphic design skills. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a job in that field.

However, you may have an easier time if you stop calling yourself a 'trainee' and think 'employee'.

great advice :o

Try emailing Paisan in Chiang Mai. He is a nice guy and speaks good English. Weboneplus is easy to find on google.

Good luck

sorry sweetie but a 6 month internship in web design is not going to get you a legal, paying job as a web designer in thailand. it takes several years to become a professional- you sound like you are on your way... but if you could do it the easy way many people would be doing it successfully here (they are not). try specializing in an area of the industry that is in demand (java programming, business enterpeise architecture, game design) and consulting for western companies from abroad.

Do you need an employer-given work permit or are you happy to make other, personal, arrangements regarding visas?
