I remember not too long ago, when the MoE had made a decision to "Learn more in less hours."

There's a lot of bla bla bla, but a lot made sense. The only school I know of following that "advice" seems to be the one I'm working at, the last period ends at 3.20 pm.

. The director of my school seems to have a brain and changed one lesson from 60 into only 50 minutes.

But just looking around, I haven't seen or heard of other schools doing something similar. The only point I disagree with, is that teachers have to stay until 4.30 to sign out via fingerprint scanner.

Did anybody experience similar changes?

This, of course, brings up the problem of after-school tutorial. In Rayong, where I live, every government school except one is rigged so that the only way students can be successful is by attending after school tutorials (usually by the teachers in their school).

Obviously this situation is rife with potential conflict of interest and favoritism.

My school changed from 50 to 40 minute lessons. Same number of lessons!

Really amazing is when they "tutor" after school, that they really teach. Not like in their ordinary lessons.

It's pretty difficult to get in and use a classroom for a foreigner to tutor after school.

Many of our EP kids get Thai tutoring every day from 3.30- 5.00 pm, but many of them also need English tutoring.
