Wife's dept in Thailand do they consider the husband liable to

Featured Replies

If the wife has a previous dept is husband responsible for the dept also!

As in Canada a wife's dept belongs to her as an example a credit card or car loan

If it is in her name only .

In Thailand is this the case

To ad. To this if the dept was incurred before marriage. Is Husband liable

tread carefully wc.first who does she owe the money to?

if its a bank or finance co.it would have to be secured,eg.against property or anything of value.

if it was from a loan shark, the same would apply,if she had no assets then she would have to have a guarantor,on default they would be liable for the debt, and what I know [first hand] these are not nice people when owed money.

so unless you know the details,FIND OUT for yourself.

or I say or because its not the first time a partner has been scammed for non existant debts.

I would do nothing because if its genuine you will find out when debt collectors come knocking.

You haven't given enough information for anybody to help you.

As Meatboy says, different types of debt to different types of people/organizations have different consequences for non payment.

1. Get all the information first hand from who the money is owed to, whether there is any security or guarantor and what the interest rate is etc.

2. Make your own decision on whether you should (or can) pay it off either in full or instalments.

3. Ask specific advice (if you need it)

suggest you ask the lawyer in this forum to get a reliable answer to your question.
