Good Day,

I have been ask by a company to go to Penang and apply for a work permit and they will pay.

I have a single non o entry based on marriage and have just had it extended for 60 days at the emigration office.

Can someone please tell me what paper work I need from the company and how will the process work and of-course what about my visa because that will expire in 60 days. As far as I know you can apply for a work permit if you have a non o visa.

You will not get a work permit in Penang a work permit has to be applied for at the labor ministry here in Thailand.

It sounds like they may be sending you out for non-b visa but you will not get that without a work permit application being done first.

You can get a work permit and work with a non-o visa based upon marriage. You don't have to go out for another visa.

If the OP is in Phuket, then is best to know that Labour there don't accept the 60 day extension as a valid basis to issue a WP, in this case a trip to say Penang will need to be made to obtain a 90 day single entry non immigrant 'b' visa.
