In the USA the Samsung 7 inch Tab does not have the phone set-up in it , you can still use a GSM Sim card for data but AT+T and Tmobile blocked the phone part,

it seems the rest of the world gets everything including the GSM phone

Yes I know they look stupid , I am not buying it for a fashion statement

So if you have one that the Phone is working can you tell me what the model number is ?

and where is a place to look for a decent used one , a few scratches are OK, I will not treat it nice when I own it ,

The battery on the fonepad 7 is a whopping 50mah smaller than the Tab (3950 compared to 4000mah) and the camera is actually 2 MP BIGGER. Dual sim. Higher resolution screen the list goes on.

there seems to be 2 speeds 1.2 mhz and 1.6mhz

not sure if the dual sim is available in 1.6

I just bought an Asus fonepad FE170 @ 4190Baht I consider it a bargin. Twin SIM and 64Gig Micro card it is a very useful phone/tablet. My 12 year old daughter thinks its the bees knees so I'm well pleased if she is.

I ended up buying a Asus fonepad 7 with 32gb memory today , so far I like it ,

only thing I wish it had was a plug for a phone headset with mic ,

yes I can use a bluetooth but that is just one more battery to remember to charge

yes it has an earphone jack but not a microphone/earphone jack

so you can talk into the top of it or us a bluetooth ....

Strange! I would have presumed it would be the same as any Android phone. Being able to use a combined phone earphone / mic setup.
