Back to back tourist trouble from Penang

Featured Replies

I have a US passport, no exempt 30 day stamps. I have 4 - b2b tourist visas from Penang. New rule here is 3 tourist visa max per year! Now I have trouble. Anyone know of an embassy or consulate I can fly to nearby that is still issuing b2b tourist visas. Ubonjoe where are you?

You could go to Vientiane or Savannakhet and get a 2 entry tourist visa.

Can you please clarify..... The consulate will only give 3 per year, or if you already have three (from anywhere) in a one year period they will reject you?

There is no restriction on the number of tourist visas or doing the entries from them on entry to the country.

Just the limit that a embassy or consulate might set.

3 max in 1 year. Meaning you are out for the last 3 months of that 1 year period.

Is that what the consulate in Penang told you or a rumor you heard.

Penang is a poor choice anyway because they only issue single entry tourist visa, making the entire thing inconvenient and expensive.

That is what happened when I presented my application at the consulate and all of my T visas have been issued there

As said just go to a different embassy or consulate. That is just Penang's limit.

Paz, for me Penang has been fine. Live in BangBuaThang, Nonthaburi. DM Airport 40 min taxi ride. Getting through immigration quick unlike Swampy. Can have visa and return next day. Reentry not needed for me.

Thanks guys for the help. All the news I read is negative and all the reports issued by MFA are going in every direction.

You can fly Air Asia to Sakhon Nakhon, then take their bus to Mukdahan. Same day service and can be back same day, many threads about that.

There has been nothing from the MFA for tourist visas just a notice about visa exempt entries. The change of rules has been for in/out visa runs for visa exempt entries.

Lots of confusion because lots of people have incorrectly called visa exempt entries tourist visas.
