Thermoscan installed at Suvarnabhumi Airport

BANGKOK, Aug 23 -- In an attempt to prevent the deadly Ebola virus from infiltrating Thailand, authorities at Suvarnabhumi Airport have installed a Thermoscan at the airport terminal, said Dr Jariengroj Krishna, Medical Department director of Airports of Thailand (AoT).

NCPO to be tasked with solving pressing problems

BANGKOK, Aug 23 -- Resolving pressing problems in Thailand after the formation of an interim government will be tackled by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), which seized power on May 22, said NCPO leader and army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha.

2 Cambodians arrested in Sakeaw for smuggling illegal goods into Thailand

SAKEAW, 23 Aug 2014, (NNT) - Sakeaw officials have arrested 2 Cambodian traders for smuggling illegal goods into the Kingdom through customs office in Arunyapratet District.

The traders hid the goods inside two trolleys full of foldable cradles, declaring that their merchandise only consists of fabric and iron cradle legs.

However, military and police officials became suspicious inspected the trolleys and found several logs of processed rare wood, 2 sacks of Vietnamese coffee, 12 sacks of Vietnamese tea, and 4 sacks of 50 KG of Vietnamese rice.

Authorities confiscated the goods and arrested two suspects while another one managed to flee.

Ang Thong Fish Market to be reorganized

ANG THONG, 23 Aug 2014, (NNT) - The authorities in Ang Thong Province is planning to reorganize the fish market in Muang District, improving the area’s visual appeal while eliminating vices and crimes.

Provincial authorities have invited vendors and entrepreneurs in the fish market to a discussion on the matter after receiving numerous complaints about drugs, illegal immigrant workers, and parking mismanagement.

The officials have explained to the business operators in the area that the issues of crimes, drugs, and gambling would be addressed, adding that illegal foreign workers would also be asked to register. Authorities expressed their strong belief that the market’s visual appeal and reputation would be restored once the project is completed.

Muang District’s Fish Market is the largest of its kind in the province. The venue is a regional distributing and vending hub for seafood of various kinds. It generates more than 100 million baht of income annually for Ang Thong Province.

Applications for NRC remains sluggish

British Man Found Dead In Pattaya



PATTAYA – August 23, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 03.00 am Pol.Lt.Kwanchai Numkanisorn-investigation inspector- was notified that a foreigner was dead in the Spanish Place Pattaya condominium on the 6th floor. After notification the police officers, doctors from Bang Lamung hospital and Sawang Borriboon rescue team rushed to the scene.
