Headquarters of Myanmar police force denies the rumours: terrorists from IS which is behind the riot being arrested in Myanmar

A Police Col denied that the spread rumours about terrorists from Islamic State (IS) have been arrested in the country and this group is being behind the recent riot in Mandalay are not correct in the morning of August 23.

The rumours spreading in this month say that defendants of Mandalay riot – Ye Htut, Htun Htun, Phyu Phyu Min (or) Gatone Ma, and Nu Nu Myat are being manipulated by IS.

“Currently, rumours about some terrorist from Islamic State have been arrested in Myanmar and IS is related to Mandalay riot are spreading. But, all of these are not correct. They are wrong. They are rumours,” a Police Col from Headquarters of Myanmar Police Force said.

Eleventh trial of the four people that the government regards to be defendants of Mandalay riot was made at Pyinmana court on August 22.

Four people – Ye Htut, Htun Htun, Phyu Phyu Min (or) Gatone Ma who are mainly responsible for three-day-long Mandalay riot have been sued under Article 211, and sections 5(D), (E), and (J) of Emergency Provisions Act now. Moreover, Ye Htut and Nu Nu Myat is additionally sued under immigration law for hold two nationality registration cards.

Jihadist group that names themselves as Islamic State (IS) is currently confiscating some regions from northern Iraq and Syria and announce to be Islamic State.
