Sakon Nakhon farmer sings karaoke for his pigs to make them productive

SAKON NAKHON: -- A farmer in Sakon Nakhon Province always sings karaoke for his pigs and the animals become highly productive.

Kamsing Chaiwongchan (คำสิงห์ ชัยวงศ์จันทร์), a 41-year-old villager of Khok Samran (โคกสำราญ) in Sakon Nakhon’s Wanorn Niwas (วานรนิวาส) District, said music helps his pigs feel relieved and so they can eat a lot, grow fast and produce a lot of baby pigs.

Khok Samran Village is a model quality-pig production village whose pig farming is financed by 250,000 baht from the SML fund. The villagers also practice mixed faming under His Majesty the King’s sufficiency economy by digging fish ponds and growing corn and vegetables.

Pork, corn and fish will first be distributed to villagers for consumption. Those left from the distribution will be sold to generate income for the community.

and 20 million+ rice farmers point the speakers out across the paddies and sing the rice their favourite melodies. :o

Does he drink home made whiskey while he sings to his pigs because that improves his singing which leads to even greater productivity.

Ahhhhh....sufficiency economy at its finest.

:D :TIT: :o:D

At least he's not trying to teach the pigs to sing. We all know that's an exercise in futility. :o

I hope I don't have bad karma and come back as a pig!

The pigs squeal in horror as he sings The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia).

What makes people think that this can't be true?

You don't need to sing karaoke to the livestock, in the fields of Issan the morlam and country music from temples and homes in merit making ceremonies wafts, drifts and carries for kilometres.

Generally the cows and buffalo enjoy it, either enthusiastically tackling the grass and occasional obstacles such as the vicious weed,'mai arab' ( this is when they hear morlam),or they relax, chewing the cud, literally, (during country music).

But I have noticed our cows disturbed by the various pick-up vans passing, blaring out various adverts for fish sauce etc, on a tape loop.

They raise their heads, adopting stances of consternation,' What is this racket?' their furrowed brows seem to be suggesting, this is not natural!

In some of the hugh farms in europe they also put music for animals. I know classic for chicken.

It is not Thai nonsense.

Beside I am not sure about the farmers karaoke

"Hugh farms" - they haven't managed to clone Hugh Grant and are now farming him in Europe, have they? Or is "hugh" a type of animal in Austria I've never come across - a bit like a "big" perchance? :o

If soft music works for plants, and classic for chooks, don't see why karaoke shouldn't work for swine. Better than throwing pearls before 'em, methinks. :D
