My two children, 8 and 9 years old came into Thailand after a holiday on their British passports. They are also Thai citizens and have lived in Thailand all their lives. A Thai passport is difficult to obtain as the Thai mother is not on the scene. Immigration issued them a year extension on their entry stamp and I'm confused as to if they have to do 90 day reporting. Immigration officer indicated they do have to but did not issue a 90 day slip. A visa agent recently told me they don't have to as they are under 15 years of age and cannot be fined or break immigration laws.
Anyone encounted this before?

They need to make 90 day reports.

The only waiver of fines for children under the age of 15 is for overstay as far as I know.

They have to do the reporting, but probably can't be fined as they are under 15 and the law limits punishment for children under 15 years of age.

If mum isn't on the scene, Mario is probably best in giving you the low down on getting the courts to grant sole custody, so you can apply for the Thai passports without the mother.

Thanks guys,

I have sole custody, court papers, but the passport office were being difficult when we applied. Guess we should report until Thai passports sorted. Thanks,.

If you have the court decision I would contact the head office and ask what the problem is.

Alternatlively you could try at another passport office.
