For an extension of stay It must be in an account from which you can withdraw the money. Not allowed is an account from which you cannot withdraw money during the agreed term.

If can be in fixed term account. It though has to be the type that allows the money to withdrawn without delay or penalty other than loss of interest.

Thank you Mario, and Udon,

I asked one of the Falang volunteers at Phuket immigration.

He said must be saving, fix cannot.

And now?

"I asked one of the Falang volunteers ..."

Next time you'll know better.

Thank you Suradit, for your words of wisdom.

Now I know who to ask the next time.

For a couple times now CW Imm has asked me to trot down to my bank in the basement and deposit/withdraw 100b to show that the account is active on the very day I'm applying for the 1-year extension - even though I had withdrawn money the day before and then had the bank letter done.

Thanks in advance!

It 400k baht for an extension of stay based upon marriage. For retirement it is 800k baht.

Neither are non-o visas but are often incorrectly called that.
