So, who is going to win, who is going to claim the top 4 trophy, who will be top scorer?

I just searched last years thread on this (it's on page 9 if you're interested) and not 1 of our expert minds predicted the top 4 correctly. Quite amusing was StevieH mocking someone for thinking Liverpool would finish second. :-D

Chelsea

City

Liverpool

Arsenal

Top Scorer - Costa/Aguero depending on who stays fit.

United could break into the top 4, especially as they have only 2 trophies to fight for - how times have changed.......... If United keep on with 3-5-2 they will lose too many points before they are firing on all cylinders IMO. Falcao is one of the most interesting signing for me - has his injury made him into a Torres, will he carry on where he left off, why does he keep signing for teams with no CL?

Over to you.........

If Money Talks how come Merchandise United won't be up there? They are by far the biggest recent spenders.

Too many new arrivals to integrate, and a defense that looks like its permanently ready to concede goals

hah. in my defence no team has ever gone from seventh to second as far as i know. we exceeded expectations massively and were even still mathematically in the race on the final day.

reckon this season it probably is chelsea, city, liverpool, arsenal. united will have to have a stab of some sort having spent such appalling amounts in fear and desperation at missing out on the champions league again next season, but their lack of depth in midfield and defence could still hurt them.

oh and top scorer balotelli.

To be 110 per cent honest and in all fairness,I could be at the thin end of a slippery slope but at the end of the day (or afternoon),I'll put my head on the chopping block and say Man. City to win the League. Man. Utd have, quite literally, and in all sincerity, got a mountain to climb but with the big man at the helm and,to be fair,I've got an enormous amount of respect for what that fellow has done at the very highest level, he was down to the bare bones and now needs his players to step up and be counted.

Well for the top 4 trophy just perm any 4 from the top 5 net money spenders over recent years :

Man U 232m

Chavs 139m

City 130m

Dippers 105m

Arse 97m

You Tottenham boys just won't let it go will you? Everything has to come down to money for you.

Carmine, you keep posting you like to talk football, but do you really? It seems to be money and slating other posters.

Alfie, if teams earn money, why shouldn't they spend it? It is not just down to sales of players.

This thread is just supposed to be a bit of fun (god knows this forum needs it ATM) but both of you just want to suck the life out of it. :-(

The Spurs lads are having a tough time these days. Staring at another rebuilding year with increasing concerns that they pissed away the Bale money on a boatload of mediocrities. I'd be ornery if I was them as well.wai2.gif

Don't be such a drama queen! rolleyes.gif

Might i remind you Alfie's only quoting "facts". Now, if you don't like them thats fine but they're still facts and very revealing at that.

What might interest you is that every single Spurs fan i've spoken to or read on a forum reckons that 6th place finish for us would be a good result and i agree. It would be ridiculous to expect us to finish higher than teams with your financial muscle. Bar the above mentioned clubs we should all be relative cannon fodder to you over a season. Just because you obviously feel uncomfortable talking about finance in football doesn't mean its not football talk. Its just not an aspect you wish to talk about. So if you don't like it stay out of it surely?

I think you have a problem in you only want to read opinions you agree with. You also seem to like dishing it but don't seem to be able to take it.

No Carmine, finances can be interesting on footy threads, just not every one.

Yes Carmine, I only want to read the same opinion as my own................Sigh.

Never mind, just keep on banging about finances and how much you hate Mourinho.

Can't see past City or Chelsea to win the league. I think Liverpool are overall stronger than last year but I reckon we can make a push. For anyone who thinks we are weaker with Suarez look at our record last year when he wasn't in the squad.

This season I think will belong to Chelsea, but I'm not sure who the runners up will be.

Man City are always going to be thereabouts, but somehow I think they will get pipped for second place.

My guess, believing that Man U will come good as the season progresses is;

Chelsea

Liverpool

Man City

Man U

Arsenal

Chelsea.

Injury free Aguero or Costa.

Dark horses: Balotelli, Falcao, Remy, Sturridge.

It won't be RVP, Rooney or Lukaku.

Top scoring midfielder will definitely come from Chelsea.

1. Man City

2. Chelsea

3. Liverpool

4. Arsenal

Costa

Paradox. If Costa is top scorer, City have no chance of winning the Prem.

Chelsea midfielders will score goals, just like last season, and we won't leak.

If Aguero is top scorer, City have a chance.

Chelsea top, City second. Money talks. Yawn.

But will QPR defy logic and finish higher than Spurs?

mjj may as well close this thread cos all we have to do is check the net spend figures since Spurs last won anything.

Could take us til next May to do it mind.

Top scoring full back ? Liverpool or Chelsea.

Slip ups on the half way line with no fcker to cover. 'We go again.' Unlikely though, cos Rodgers is intelligent.

Most assists. Fabregas or Ozil. Mata is off to Italy at Christmas.

Best geezer between the posts?

Feeling Lucky?

di Maria and Falcao will definitely make it interesting.

Uh oh. Red card... Mario.

Best league in the World.

Sorry about this, but I'll have to edit this post. I'm busting my @rse trying to get a mention in of what Spurs do best. But tbh, I'm fcking struggling.

Who is The Scum? UNITED or Arsenal. A charming turn of phrase.

Spurs will struggle every season until the cockerel is replaced by a turkey. Then they really will struggle.
