Uzbek woman arrested following complaints by 'tourists'

PATTAYA: -- Pattaya police arrested four Uzbek women for solicitation in Pattaya this morning after supposedly receiving complaints from tourists.

Given it all went down on Pattaya’s infamously seedy Walking Street, it’s difficult to imagine why a group of tourists would have singled out four eastern European women. The report didn’t specify who the noble tourists were, only their specific complaint that there were “foreign prostitutes offering sex service to foreigners” there.

Pattaya police promptly sent undercover foreigners out into the popular street this morning and arrested the four Uzbek women, who reportedly accepted the undercover foreigner’s money for sex.

Wow - it's been ages since the last "round-up" of Uzbek hookers on WS ! Someone must be slipping !

I just did a quick search and glanced at some of the (many) previous stories about the same thing, going back before 2006. Funny to note that it seems very little has changed over the last 8(+) years.

Perhaps the only surprise is that they only rounded up 4. There are usually at least a dozen on a given night (that I can pick out) just on Walking Street alone and the previous "round-ups" usually net a lot more than just 4.

(And quite frankly, after seeing them, I think I'd rather take my chances with some of the freelancers !)

I think that there is a greater likelihood that a 'sex tourist' would inhabit walking street. I don't see anywhere in my post where I referred to a 'sexpat'.

They are twice as expensive as a thai girl. But the Thais don't want the competition, that's why they were arrested.

You serious , i've often wondered how these girls do any business. They are so fat n ugly it's beyond belief any guy could find them sexually attractive. Still , if they turn you on dude , no worries , each to his own i guess.

The out pricing and greed isn't only with the hookers it seems. Chiang Mai a bowl of Khao Soi = 25 to 30 baht. Pattaya Khao Soi = 139 baht and tasteless

Sounds like the Russian mafia havn`t paid the local authorities their tea money this month so they are rounding up their assets as a warning. Of course for some on here corruption no longer exists in the happy utopia we live, but for the rest of us thats likely what happened.

For the people above asking "do you think only sex tourists visit Pattaya?" the answer is of course no. However on walking street on the average night there are over 1000 girls selling their bodies so it seems rather improbable some family holidaymakers would single these girls out.

What really sucks is that foreigners are posing as customers to get the Natashas screwed - they are more the hookers than the girls.

Psst. For some tourists, Pattaya's Walking Street is "somewhere else". Walking Street is a major draw for this town. Bus loads of Chinese and Korean tourists go to check out the strange. Don't think they have enough time on tour to "sample" the goods. IF you don't like the place then don't go there. I don't partake of either the girls or booze, but I get very tired of those who wish to shut down a venue because of their belief it is their god given duty to make sure people only have fun within confines of their view of how world should be.

Soliciting for the purposes of prostitution is illegal which is what it appears these Uzbek women were doing. The more traditional Thai prostitution usually manages to keep on the right side of the law.
