Sukhumbhand is back at work

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra was back to work at the Bangkok Metropolitan (BMA) again after having to suspend working for five months pending Appeals Court\'s ruling on election law violation charge.

He was welcomed home by hundreds of BMA officials holding welcoming placards and giving flowers.

The court dropped the case brought against him by the Election Commission which sought to hold reelection of Bangkok governor if the court ruled his election campaign was guilty.

He was earlier given yellow card by the EC for violating election law in March this year.

Reminds me once more of someone, an evil megalomaniac, so full of himself and his huge power, who declared he could even get 'a lantern post' elected as Bkk Governor! Quod non visibly, and now 100% officially. I now have a gentle smile on my face imagining that man with a lantern post stuck between his teeth... How does it feel today, Pr Dr Pol Maj?

With his connections, what else.

The man was elected by a straight majority of voters. PTP 'found' reasons to doubt the election was fair. The Court now said it was. But you still need to add a bitter touch, as you cannot be satisfied, because it was not 'your' candidate, maybe? Is it then that 'your side' only considers an election to be free and fair when their candidates are chosen? That wouldn't be very 'democratic', you know... Irony?

With the most votes a Governor in BKK ever got.

Really.....Bangkok needs a younger and dynamic governor not some.......................................................!

The people of Bangkok had previously voted in Apirak, who fit your description, but he, honorably, resigned when charged in the fire truck/fire boat scandal of previous Bangkok governor Samak. By the time he was cleared of any and all wrongdoing, it was too late for him to serve. I hope he runs again to replace the honorable Sukhumbhand in the next election.
