Misplaced Marriage Certificate

Featured Replies

Actually it's not misplaced, I know where I last left it, at the Nakhon Phanom immigration office, but that was five or six years ago. I sent them a letter once with a self addressed return envelope and ฿100 to cover mailing costs, but never heard anything back. I have a copy of it and since I am on an extension due to retirement, I don't need it. However I think it would be a good idea to replace it, does anyone know how I do this. The original was issued in Koh Samui, but I never get down that way anymore and dont really want to go if I don't have to. Thank you.

It is not possible to get a new one.

What people have been able to do when they only had a copy was to get a updated Kor Ror 2 marriage registry and have a copy of the marriage certificate stamped and signed at an Amphoe.

PM sent but i'm not sure that it actually went :)

Had to get a copy a few years back and i went to the registry where we were married 30 years ago . Paid a hundred baht or so and got an official , stamped document that attests to the marriage. No copy of the original is possible , just a search of their records. Also we had to go to the very same Registry we were married in so it sounds like a trip to Koh Samui. The marriage records are not on a centralised computer data base yet.

I you have gotten married in the last 15 years or so the Kor Ror 2 marriage registry is entered in their system. You can go to any Amphoe and get a printout of it.

If not entered in the system it may be possible to contact the Amphoe where your marriage was registered by phone and ask them to enter it in the system.

To get a replacement printout........You must get a police report where you lost it...not anywhere else so you were sure you put it on the table when you came home 2 years ago weren't you?

To get a print out of the Kor Ror 2 marriage registry you do not need a police report. Just ask for it and pay 20 baht.

There is no print out possible for your marriage certificate (Kor Ror 3).

False Information ubonjoe

I have just done it.

One that gave the biggest problem was the Kor Roe 3. I am not claiming I got a photocopy of the document with its pretty edging. Just a full printout of all wording on the document,

Please Ubonjoe where did you get your information.

Sadly this site is getting less and less useful for reliable information.

There have been many reports of people not being able to get a replacement Kor Ror 3 nor a print out of it. All the information that is on the Kor Ror 3 is on the Kor Ror 2.

Perhaps you are giving wrong info because you actually got a Kor Ror 2.

Not the Kor Ror 2 however it is labeled kor ror 14/1

It is a word for word copy of the marriage certificate on watermarked paper but lacking the edging so I guess technically it is not a copy of the marriage certificate but a print of the official recording which I have been assured is valid for use in place of it.

I will have to replace my statrement to read. You may not be able to get an actual replacement marriage certificate but you can certainly obtain an official statement of the wording on it which is recognised by all departments as a copy of your wedding certificate. In order to do so you will need a police report in at least the case of one ampure. All of this may not apply if you go to the local ampure where you were married as I did not.
