StevieH
"The Damned United". Martin Sheen as Cloughie - about the 44 days he and Taylor spent at Leeds United. One of the few football films to be given 4 tomatoes on Rotten Tomatoes* (largely because Sheen as absolutely excellent in almost everything he touches (like when he played Blair in the Diana death film) *Gregory's Girl did get 4.5 mind! the book is amazing. the film wasn't. even with sheen and spall and broadbent. it was alright. but the book is incredible, so tough gig. and any football fan on here should have read at least three david peace books, including the damned united. redrus
The Hooligan Factory. Quite possibly the gayest, funniest ever portrayal of England's favourite pastime. Watch with pounds of salt. redrus
rijit
no one's mentioned the film that inspired this thread,, that's probably cos ure all a bunch of uncultured, heathen, that's just for u smokes, rednecks it's definitely the most poignant and arguably one that captures best that something, inspite of all the differences we have, we have in common, an irrepressible, sometimes borderline inappropriate , unconditional love of the game ,,,,,, 'the cup ' Edited September 13, 2014 by rijit

meatboy
surely the greatest film made but was never showed. "MOMENT OF GLORY" it was rumoured that newcastle took out a court injuntion as to save the mighty geordies severe embarrassment and loss of face. thus it never made the big screen. for all you newcastle fans that are wondering what the fk.is he on about? here's a little reminder. 5TH.OF FEBUARY 1972 GOT IT. FA.CUP REPLAY.got it.[hereford the cider boys]. that should open the cupboard door for 42yrs.its been locked away.so have we got anyone who remembers that historic day. champers
Too true. Ronnie Radford's 35 yard screamer and the pitch invaded by Hereford's youth of the day, mostly wearing parkas. Parkas are now back in fashion, by the way, but not lambchop sideburns......yet. Newcastle's side included Supermac (Malcolm McDonald) and Tony Green who was an exceptionally talented player whose career was cut short by injury. P45Mustang
Shorty. Looking forward to seeing the film about Southampton's Academy. Think I'll give "Hodgson. A 20th Century Nightmare" a miss.
