billbellamy
Hello, I have been getting mixed information. I am currently on a Non Immigrant O visa with a year extension based off of marriage. My year extension ends in December 2014. I have found a job in Thailand and would like to start the job soon. My question is can I get the work permit while currently on the Non O extension or do I have to leave the country and get a Non B? If I can do it on the Non O should I wait to start the job(get the work permit) until December so that the work permit and 1 year re-extension match up? Thanks for any help? digitalchromakey
With an extension based on Thai Family (Spouse) - National Police Order 327/2557 it shouldn't be a problem in most areas to apply for and receive a WP for your new job. There is no requirement for WP and Extension to be in sync, in fact it's much easier if they are offset on your calendar, both logistically and stress wise. Obviously you must have the Extension to collect the WP.
