CM4Me
This years harvest only produced a very small profit, after allowing for production costs. Yields are down, prices are down. Why?
Popular Post Tywais
Not sure where you are but Chiang Mai seemed to have a bumper crop which knocked the market price down. Lot's of complaints here about the low price (sellers, not buyers) . We don't farm but we have a tree in our front yard and about 200kg came off it.
slapout
What kind of a price was quoted? Many farmers are selling to brokers( on the tree) who supply manpower for harvest, transport etc.

RedBullHorn
Usually it is contract purchase at 1'000 Baht per tree at one viewing... if agree... wholesaler bring his harvesting team in...
RedBullHorn
Grand MIL got 800 trees... after variable cost of 200'000 Baht, she is left with 600'000 of pocket money for a whole year.
CM4Me
Some of the quoted returns for this year are rather hard to believe. For example around San Pa Tong (CNX)the average price received by farmers was 2013 2014 Grade AA 20.2B/kg 16.2B/kg Grade A 13.9B/kg 6.0B/kg Grade B 6.4B/kg 2.4B/kg Grade C 1.0B/kg 0.5B/kg
