changintimes
I found this painting online. Does anyone know what the words say ? Or why someone would post it online ?
mistephenso
It is a Buddhist painting, talking about prayer and how you go about praying...Basically, it says:Today is Buddha's dayDoing good (to others) is better than just prayingIf all you do is pray, you won't get blessedDo good (for others) and don't just pray (something like that, but it is difficult to translate directly)Pray all year but do help others all the time as well. That is the jist of it, anyway... The stuff in brackets is my take on it. It isn't that easy to translate directly (for me, anyway ). You might have been better off posting this in the Thai Language forum? flagator96
Thanks. Is today Buddha day ? It is actually in May. It will be May 25 2015 next time it is celebrated. It is also a national holiday for some SE Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Burma, Singapore and of course Thailand.
fabianfred
Actually what they call 'Buddha Day' happens every week on the moon four quarter days. Full-moon days are a Big Buddha day and all the most important festivals occur on the full-moon day.
