Transferring ownership at Pattaya DLT (registration)

Hello all,

I was just turned away from the Pattaya Department of Land Transport office trying to transfer the ownership into my name from the previous owner.

The car was purchased and registered in Bang Khae, all my paperwork is ship-shape and ready to go but that wasn't the problem.

The lady at the info desk told me and my partner that the Pattaya DLT doesn't handle transfer of ownership and that i would have to travel all the way to Chonburi city to carry out the transfer!

This goes against all the research i've done. People on forums, expat websites and even the guy who owns the dealership in which i purchased the car said that it is possible at the Pattaya DLT.

Can someone shed some light on this? I've had this car since Feb and it's been nothing but a nightmare, to the point where i think it's going to be easier just to burn the car to the ground!
