UDD seeks fair probe of Men In Black case

BANGKOK: -- Redshirt leaders today petitioned the Royal Thai Police seeking fair investigation in a case of which five members of the so-called 'Men in Black' were arrested and accused.

They claimed that a recent press conference and reenactment of crimes by the police had misled the public into thinking that the five suspects were responsible for battling the soldiers that resulted in the death of Gen Romklao Thuvatham.

The leaders who included Jatuporn Prompan, leader of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), Mrs Thida Tawornset, Weng Tochirakarn and a lawyer submitted the petition to deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai police Pol Gen Somyot Phumphanmuang.

In the petition, they said all the five Men in Black members were only indicted by the police of having war weapon in possession, carrying and using them with no authority.

Besides, they said the time and place of the battling by this group of men with troops was also not the same time and same place as where Gen Romklao was killed.

Significantly the redshirt leaders said Gen Romklao and four soldiers were killed by a M67 hand grenade lobbed into them and not the weapon which the police displayed at the press conference.

They also claimed there was no post mortem examinations of their bodies under requirement of the Criminal Procedure Code, except the body of Pvt Narongvit Sara.

They said the police-organised press conference was intended to link the violent protests in 2010 and 2014 together to mislead the public into believing that the violent acts were interconnected.

They said the police press conference carried ambiguous information and lacked accountability.

Pol Gen Somyot is chief investigator of the politically-related violence cases, notably the April 10, 2010 bloody protest that killed Gen Romklao.

I agree with them that the reenactment wasn't fair but then it isn't in other cases either.

I don't remember them complaining when the government they supported decided not to investigate the army for deaths in 2010 even though they demanded justice.

Jatuporn can read - I knew he could incite others to violence and crime,...but reading...I did not know that about him. This really changes my attitude towards him and the UDD, there is hope yet! Use this skill, Jatuporn, use it!

Don't get carried away. Its just a picture he is looking at

I don't know who would be the most worried right now, the UDD Leadership, the paid Thaksin terrorists who actually did the dirty work, or the dipsticks who have nothing better to do than support this disgusting band of criminals. biggrin.png

By the way, they have already been released on bail (the norm for hard core terrorists, lol)

Link to them having been released on bail?

There is no link as they have not been released on bail.

He's just rumor-mongering.

At least he admits they are hard core terrorists.

Although not clear which ones he means, the ones at the table or the ones in black.....or both.

I am not sure, Robby, if he has the smarts and/or the gonads to admit it. Kudos to him if that is the case, but it was probably a typo. whistling.gif
