It's astounding how little most modern Americans know about the early years of the USA , let alone pre European sttlement – they then go on Google and find little nuggets, take them out of context, and because they've never heard of it before, think no-one else knows about it. I was educated in the UK (and Australia), and we were taught history and how to study history, not a mish-mash of myth and propaganda spewed out in the American educational system... a country that has no idea where Belgium is.
