Itsy bitsy teenie weenie bikini commentary: Thai opinion

Bikini = problem for Thais cause they are so shy. bla bla bla

BUT

Just take a look to the school uniform which was called the most sexy school uniform by Japanese hungry aberrant men.

Just take a look to the bars, where you may find half naked girls and ladyboys.

Jo go and check a ping pong show where you may get a pu ... y to your nose.

Something else ?

"Just take a look to the school uniform which was called the most sexy school uniform by Japanese hungry aberrant men."

Off topic but your obsession with what you seem to think is a Thai "school" (university?) uniform is ridiculous if you ever bother to check what the real uniform consists of. What you and "Japanese hungry aberrant men" (whatever that means) see are not actual university uniforms and are frowned upon by the universities.

Please spare us your derailing nonsense about Thai shyness..

Must have been a lack of advertisers in The Nation today so they needed to fill some space. A blank page would have been a more intelligent read than this dribble.

"A blank page would have been a more intelligent read than this dribble."

Dribble? Surely the most ironic post of the day, a blank post would have been more intelligent.

To all those who cannot, or choose not to read the report properly, the commentary is not about bikinis or anyone's comment about bikinis. The bikini reference is an analogy. Read the OP fully and you might understand.

"Forget the bikini remark and how he sings. Prayut's real problem is not his mouth, but the tightrope that seems to stretch forever in front of him. Due to the diversity of Thailand's volatile politics, he will have to navigate contrasting demands, clashing interests and conflicting ideologies. Here are the groups that he ignores at his peril, many of which are next to impossible to please:"

The context of the article, that he has many obstacles is obvious, and one that affects world leaders anywhere. Of course it is a tightrope that they walk and every step of the way there are those who are appeased and those that are aggrieved. the difference in Thailand is that they are too concerned with appeasing the slimy underbelly, and less concerned with the assisting the aggrieved through transparent and functional governance The bikini remark is more of an example than an analogy of this mindset.

(Off topic a bit, but interestingly, when talking about public decency, all discussion exempts bar girls. Why you ask? Because, unlike in the west, hookers are not classed as women. Policewomen are women, firewomen are women, office workers and doctors and nurses and teachers are women, but sex workers are sex workers... a category of its own... "they don't count".)

It's disgusting to even allude to this vile comment.

That somehow it's misunderstood .

I don't know if your some seedy bar owner in fear seated in Pattaya worried about Tourist bucks.

But don't have the audacity to protect this guys comments to us.

They are universally panned.

And we only have to marvel at people with Stockholm syndrome type remarks .

It's where you show empathy and sympathy for the guy holding up the bank ( read Thailand)

Get over it.

It is what it is .

Crass comment

No, what is disgusting, crass and vile (your words) is your comment that proves that you didn't read the OP or maybe couldn't understand it's content or meaning. Try reading it again, slowly.

The OP is not about comments that Prayuth made and no-one is disputing that those comments (or their translations) may have been universally panned.

You're quite right, you don't know what I am but your suggestion that I may be a "seedy bar owner in fear seated in Pattaya worried about Tourist bucks" is a million miles off course.

"And we only have to marvel at people with Stockholm syndrome type remarks .

I don't see the relevance of the Stockholm Syndrome to the OP but thanks for nearly explaining it correctly.

"Get over it.

It is what it is"

Very profound...there's nothing for me to "get over", you seem to be the touchy one here.

I've no idea what you're going on about here, I didn't ask, or make any comment, about public decency or sex workers, maybe you're addressing the wrong post?

"... if Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha cared about political correctness, he would never have staged that coup in the first place."

Funny, I never thought that upholding the principles of democratic institutions was considered political correctness. If the Thai military had any respect for the nation's Constitution, the People's elected government, and the human rights of Thai People themselves, it would have never staged that coup in the first place. But what prevailed was an "itsy bitsy teeny weeny" group who sought control of the nation for their own agenda - no matter how noble it may be.

bad protocol for me to address an already acknowledged off topic comment.

But what do they call lady: lawyers, chefs, doctors, engineers, IT managers... ?

Oh they don't have a name for them either because they also don't count

The "bikini" uproar is just the merest glimpse of what's waiting for the "interim" prime minister in the future.

And you and your kind will be there hanging on every word...looking for a human weakness...any sign of vulnerability...so you can announce to the world that the prime minister is a man who does not deserve respect due a person with his political power and responsibility...

Good luck with that!
