Does anyone know best place to have ultra sound done on both legs ? Bought some compression stocking when I had pain in upper part of leg with varicose veins and saw Dr. after he told me to get ultrasound on both legs set out to find best / most reasonable place to have done to take to him so he could see root of my problem and pain . Confusing as some hospitals say it will be 20 minute procedure like and others say it will take an hour . Been to many hospitals asking about this to find best place for scan but confused so I am posting here ( possibly I should have separate thread ? ) as months have past and this thread and my pain have waken me up to get this scan done ASAP just not sure where ? Thanks .

There is no best "place". Any hospital will have the capacity to do this. The issue is to find a good vascular specialist. Suggest:

Dr.Kritaya Kritayakirana - at Bumrungrad and also at Bkk Christian

Dr. Piyanut Pootracool - Bumrungard

Dr. Thamrong Temudom - Bumrungrad and also Bangkok Hospital

Thanks , after meeting with a vein specialist he sent me to the radiology department for the ultra sound scans on both legs so he could prescribe treatment and get more detail about what could be causing problem . The department scheduling this was telling me it would be two weeks before I could get an appointment and it's about a 20 minute quick procedure so I went to another hospital to inquire about the same scanning procedure so I would not have to wait and could get Dr. results to look at asap . At other hospital Yanee that seem to almost specialize in different treatments for varicose veins with a whole floor dedicated to diagnosis and treatment . I talk to Dr. there about doing the ultrasound and he said it was almost a full hour to do both legs ( and he did it personally ) and not only looked at the varicose vein in lower leg but the upper part of the leg that may be at the root of things like DVT , he also said he would do scans standing lying down and performing exercise . I know almost nothing but after investigating the issues with my legs it seems like ultrasound is the tool that gives the doctor real feedback as to what the root of the problem is and after speaking with two different hospitals about the procedure it was like night and day , one saying it was a quick 20 minute process and the other explaining how it was about an hour and I would be exercising standing and lying down as they scanned the legs. Thanks again for the feedback and just thought there was probably one place that was more in depth and skilled at doing ultrasound on the legs compared to another because in my limited investigation there seem to be a real difference but I will report back after I investigate a few other hospitals and have this done . Learning much and this thread got me motivated to not waste time thanks .

Stop talking about it and get it done. This is serious and if you feel any discomfort then you should have an Ultrasound done post haste. While you are "tinkering" with who is going to do it, a blood clot could be forming that may break off and travel to your lungs and you die or travels to your brain and you suffer a stroke and die

Up to you but stop procrastinating

Why the heck are you posting this on some dumb forum? Go see a doctor for crying out loud!

TV is not a dumb forum. If you are referring to the members, I take issue with that. There is a more gentle way of suggesting to someone that he should go and see a Doctor

And while you are at it, take the time to actually read a thread before replying.

The OP was advised to see a doctor at once and did so, the same day of the original post.

There can be many reasons why people come to this site when they have a health problem, perhaps simply not being aware of the seriousness of the condition for one, or being confused when it is right to seek medical assistance and when not, something we all grapple with. others when in trouble might want to seek the solace of friends on the board as there are plenty of well meaning folk on the forum. Older generations and people from less developed countries may have got in to an ingrained habit of avoiding hospitals for fear or financial loss. Guys in particular are not good self motivators in medical matters often relying on female members of the family to push them, and this may not be forthcoming in thailand. Some simply have a fear of white coats. Or of dealing with a foreign doctor.

So I can see great value in the forum.
