Hi All. I'm currently on an Ed visa (expires Dec 1st) and I'm going back to the UK this Monday for around 6 wks. I've already obtained a re-entry permit but now I'm thinking that when I come back I'll just come back on a Tourist Visa, as my next trip back here will only be for around 3 months and involve no further studying. Will the unused re-entry permit and non-expired Non Imm Ed visa be a problem or will the Tourist visa just take precedence? Thanks!

Yes, the existing visa and re-entry permit would be used.

To stay 3 months get a tourist visa before coming and be clear that you intend to entry with that (number in arrival card and show it to officer.

You can use the tourist visa for entry. Be sure you put the visa number on the arrival card and then check that the officer used it when he stamps you into the country.

Excellent. Thanks guys. I'll be obtaining the tourist visa in the UK and will be sure to stipulate this as the visa that I wish to enter on (both on TM card and to the imm officer)
