90 day report by post (5 or 10 baht stamps?)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I've sent my 90 day report paperwork on the post. My friend told me I needed to include an envelope with 5 baht, so I attached two 3 baht stamps. Alas, I've checked online and on the website it says "at least 10 baht". They seem to have changed the rules recently. Any chance that my application will be successful or do I have to do it all again? Anyone has had a similar experience? Cheers.

Well, as someone noted in another thread, there is no 5, 6 Bt or 10 Bt. rate.

A letter up to 50g still cost 3 Bt (!!!). So whatever you put (seems like a voluntary contribution) don't stick it on the envelope or it would be wasted.

The printed brochure that I received from my immigration office regarding mail in reports specifically says 10 baht so that's what I use. It'll most likely appear along with the flyers from Big C!

I usually send mine Monday morning and get the new slip back on either Friday or Saturday using the 10 baht stamp.

The latest notice posted on immigration's website says 5 baht instead of 10 baht.

That's great, there is hope, then. On this website (I assume it's official and up to date) it still says 10 baht http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=90days

Has anyone received their 90 day slip recently using less than 10 baht worth of stamps?

Might be worth mentioning that I safely received in the post from my local immigration office (Maptaput) last week my latest 90-day report receipt notification confirmation slip inside an envelope with a 5 THB stamp affixed to it.

5 baht covers you up to 249g which, I hope, is ample for a single sheet of paper and an envelope containing it. In fact a 3 baht stamp covers you up to 99g which is more than enough. There is no postal rate of 10 baht, although there are 10 baht stamps.
