I recently purchased an S5 here in Thailand. The first thing I did was change the language to English.

However I still get a lot of stuff in Thai which I cannot read. I think it comes from my signing up for a Samsung Account. When I bring that up it is mostly Thai

I do not know how to change it and have no way to contact their Support as it is all in Thai

Anyone else had this problem?

The DTAC staff changed the language so I am only supposed to receive texts in English (DTAC originated) - however spam texts still come in Thai & some of the DTAC texts still come in Thai but usually closely followed by an English one or combined.....

You might go to your service provider.....especially if they originate from them....

As a last ditch move, make sure you transfer your media to your/laptop/desktop, contacts to SIM, etc then reset to default and set it up the way you want it.

In England you cannot get the Thai language, on your Galaxy, Mrs went and bought an apple i phone so she could get her native language on it. Maybe where you buy your phone in the world makes a difference what language is on it.

Bizarrely, my Galaxy S5 (purchased in Australia) allows me to select a Thai keyboard, while not offering Thai as one of the operating languages.

Yes you are correct, I think it depends on where the phone is made and for what County.

I travel a lot around Asia and basically everywhere I login to my Samsung Account I get the local language, even my Samsung phone settings are all English. I contacted Samsung about this and this is what they had to say....

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

The language of Samsung
Apps is based on the country of origin of the SIM card and on the IP of the Wi-Fi connection. If you moved in Japan and you didn't change the SIM card, you see Japanese because of the IP of the Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately there is no way of changing these settings. The language will change when you go back to Thailand.

Thank you for using our services. Your satisfaction is very important to us.

Kind regards,

Kim Lee

So not really a fix, but at least you know you cannot do anything about it....
