The New York Steak House at the JW Marriott in Bangkok (but take out a mortgage on your house before you go).

Actually, true Kobe beef (more correctly called Tajima beef) comes from an ancient Japanese stock of cattle called "kuroge Wagyu" and is not exported from Japan. The cattle are raised on less than 300 small farms in Japan, the majority of which have fewer than 10 animals - hence the rarity and the fact that it is not exported.

"Kobe style" beef is produced from a crossbreed of Wagyu and American Angus cattle raised and slaughtered, usually, in the U.S.A..

I will be in Japan next week and sure I gonna have some of the Tajima beef.

Thank you customers of my company as the bill is put in my expense claim.

Will make some pictures and tell about the heavenly experience.

By the way how much for such or similair steak in Thailand?

Looks like a strange sort of T-Bone, broiled or boiled, not grilled.

Go for quantity at Fogo Vivo in Bangkok all you can eat Argentinian beef. Eat a couple of pounds of beef they don't care. With that much protein and no carbs ketosis will have you pissing gold!

If that picture was taken in Thailand, it's an even chance it's water buffalo. (And if it were the 1960's, a 100% chance.)

But, it tastes ok; a little chewy however. The wife still asks in restaurants advertising 'beef' whether or not it really is buffalo. Surprising the number of honest answers.

Kobe Buffalo anyone??
