I'm not Steve Irwin but it looks like some form of reticulated python.

Possibly a Platinum Reticulated Python?

Yes

I was actually asleep and heard a noise outside so decided to check, stepped outside the glass doors and picked up my cigs from the outdoor table and as I was lighting a cig I turned around to see this snake about 3 feet away from me hanging on the exercise machine. Dropped the cig and banged my head into the door in my hurry to get back inside to safety.

Wife came out to see what the noise was about and screamed when she saw it. Then our 6 mth old cat came up to the glass and thought she had found a new playmate, the snake came down to the bottom of the glass door thinking it had found a meal.

It was actually funny watching the snake and the cat both kissing the glass trying to get at each other. I monitored the snake for about 2 hours and it's now resting behind the house between our water tank and ladder.

It was moving very slowly and at first tried to get up into the eaves but couldn't reach. I hope it's alright but not sure. We found a similar snake dead in the garden about 3 weeks ago, I hope that this one isn't on it's last legs too (no pun intended)

It's as said, a reticulated python, . You need to relocate it to a remote area otherwise it might end up in a pot or at lest dead. We get them regularly where I live, the dogs alert me and I take them down the road and release them in the sugar cane or corn fields. They are not poisonous but will bite to protect themselves. I have a noose made from rope and PVC to catch them and usually put on welding gloves when I handle them.

Sorry the last photos disappointed you Kanuckamuck, if I see it again I'll get the yellow spraycan out.

Joking aside the first photos were taken with my nokia with extra lighting turned on outside.

The last photos were taken by my wife with her Samsung note, she then used the botox button to darken the snake's colour and reduce the glare. The snake was/is actually a green yellow combo. Hope this cheers you up
