Thai Police nab three foreigners wanted on different charges

"He was wanted by Interpol for drunk driving and causing an accident that claimed two lives and injured another person in his homeland on August 24, police said yesterday." So it is safe to assume that all the Thais who have done drunk driving causing death have been apprehended already? I feel so much safer....

Except if you run into red bull's cowardly son in Singapore- although he is more likely to run into you.

Sure is loads of petty nonsense going on for media coverage since the mobs came to an end.

"Pol Maj-General Warawuth Thaweechaikarn said Palmgren lived in Pattaya and ran a bakery. He said the suspect had entered Thailand via the Malaysian border."

looks like he made of DOUGH.

The CRUST of the matter is, he has been LOAFING about for so long, at YEAST they got him in the end.

A half-baked response.

Nice try, but what about justice for Hannah and David. Stop trying to deflect from one of the most hideous and offensive coverups in human history. We will never forget and we will never let you forget.

...so it griefs me that I could not forget that they almost forgot what we haven't forgotten.sad.png

What about the 125,000 Thais wanted for murder? Are they on the radar?

That's staggering - if it's true.

There was an item I found in 2011 which stated there were 125 on this wanted list, but a thousand-fold increase in three years is pretty interesting

Some figures to back up your statement please.

(You don't work for the same PR firm that the TAT uses, do you, by any chance?? ;-) )

Its probably best if you stear clear of assuming anything if this is an example of your skillset.

The Thai police did not arrest him for drunk driving. They arrested him for an outstanding warrant.

The warrant was issued by a different country.

Cheers

Next up: an Irishman with an outstanding warrant for pubic drunkedness from 1988, a Dutch who was fined for not wearing a helmet while on a motorbike, and a guy from Atlanta, Georgia who never paid his fine for jaywalking.

So, thought that by leaving the old country you'd get away from all those parking tickets you didn't pay?

It would be best to turn yourself in to the BiB now. Your country's ambassador will be there at the inquest to point at you.

Mmmmm the police cooperate with an interpol investigation and you still give them hard time?

All they did in this case, was use the Interpol info as an excuse to steal his business

and rob him of everything they could

as they kick him in the ass on the way out of their smiling country

Agreed. It's a good thing that as Buddhists, they believe in karma.

There's a problem with the concocted perception of karma in thailand which is shared neither by true buddhism nor it's root, the Hindu faith.

The belief that they can cook a pig's face & 100 eggs, deliver it to their favorite shrine & all their wrongdoings will be forgiven or 'balanced' giving them carte blanche to act as they please then do some cooking afterwards. There'll always be 'next life' to make amends too as long as they're not demoted to become a street dog, or a maggot.

Delusional religious fanaticism tbqh but hey... There are still hill tribes in the north & ghost spirits in the trees so what do we really expect.

" ol Maj-General Warawuth Thaweechaikarn said Palmgren lived in Pattaya and ran a bakery." O I hope it's not the Continental Bakery in Pattaya. I'd hate to have a visit from the police for 'Adding and abreading' a known criminal!

Crumbs. This post really takes the cake.

Palmgren mustn't have kept many people in the loop about his whereabouts, only telling them on a knead to know basis. Probably just the way he rolls.

Why did the police arrest him after 17 years? Did he run out of donuts? Maybe they were just tired of the hole thing.

Anyway, now he's toast.

Its (Interpol) work focuses primarily on public safety and battling terrorism, crimes against humanity, environmental crime, genocide, war crimes[citation needed], organized crime, piracy, illicit traffic in works of art, illicit drug production, drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, human trafficking, money laundering, child pornography, white-collar crime, computer crime, intellectual property crime and corruption.

All else aside - namely the less than 1% of 1% of foreigners that the Thais hang out in public - one would think that Interpol would be contacting Thailand on a daily basis to have Thailand arrest Thais.

New definition of "criminal" in this new era: One who keeps all the money to one's self.

Criminals who share their spoils are now to be labeled as Corporations, Political Parties, Law Enforcement Agencies, Tax Collection Agencies and Governments (to name a few).

Any and all persons acting as their own agent will be labeled as a criminal or terrorist and dealt with immediately by the Corporations, Political Parties, Law Enforcement Agencies, Tax Collection Agencies and Governments (to name a few).

Edit: So they arrested a baker, a bad driver and a person accused by a Thai as a thief. Wow! I feel safer.
