Is This A Good Offer For 2-3stars Hotel?

Featured Replies

I am taking a few elderly people for a pilgrimage to BKK.

One internet agent offers Ambassador hotel for Bt-1140 per room for 3 rooms.

I shall appreciate if experienced travellers could suggest if this a good rate for this hotel with breakfast.

IMO this seems to be a good rate for a standard room at the Ambassador BKK. I have stayed here many times and quite like the place although I use the tower rooms which have a better view and slightly more space. There has been much discussion on here about this hotel and I have to agree with the people who say it's a little dated and needs redecorating. But for the price I think it is excellent value. The skytrain station being only 5 mins. walk makes it very accessible.

If you walk through the shopping mall onto Soi 11 and cross the road there's a small soi with a nice outside bar called "Cheap Charlies" and a very authentic looking Thai restaurant which is always popular.

Thanks for the info. It's a bit run down but it's still better than others near it. The actual price is Bt1260 per standard twin and more for bigger rooms. The rate we were offered was for ONE person only :o Tricky but it's good for what we paid for anyway.

What's wrong with Soi 3, in one tread, someone is complaining about being close to Soi 3

This is currently posted on a major web site agent site regarding this hotel:

SOME GUEST ROOMS IN THE MAIN WING ARE BEING RENOVATED DUE FOR COMPLETION BY THE END OF DECEMBER 2006. THERE MAY BE SOME MINIMAL INCONVENIENCE TO GUESTS

Soi 3 is the Middle East area of Bangkok and home to some activities not normally associated with the Middle East.

.

There is construction around there so get a room away from that.

Does the place still have that big bird collection that squaks away at 6AM I wonder?

Louder than loud and a goofy thing to have at a Hotel where people want to SLEEP. :o
