Overstaying 10 days, then extending non-b at immigration?

Featured Replies

The license/waiver from BKK will not be coming back until the 29th or so. My Non-B visa finishes on the 20th.

If I overstay 10 days and pay the fine, should there be any problem with making the extension at immigration (assuming all other paperwork is in order).

I recommend that you leave by the 20th and come back with a new non-imm 'B', can be obtained the same day in Savannakhet, Laos.

I cannot predict how immigration will handle that now. In the past there has been cases of people being able to pay an overstay and getting an extension. One or two days would probably not be a problem but 10 days I just don't know.

Okay. Thanks for the opinions. Much appreciated. Maybe I'll go ask them tomorrow, though not sure how they'll look upon me planning to overstay.

If you apply in person at the TCT you can now get it in a few days and have seen some reports that say same day.

I went there in person about 2 years ago and received it back about 5 days later by EMS. If I had picked it up myself it would have been quicker.

They actually ended up sending someone from the school to BKK. There is some sort of "system" problem there now and minimum 7 days wait. Everyone is in the same boat apparently...

Just very unfortunate for me that I don't have time to wait. So it's back to Laos or go up to Mae sai and use this tourist visa now and deal with the Non-B and extension in a couple months.

I've considered back to laos, but my passport only has 2 blank pages left. I'm not sure it will be enough with the visa from laos and all the stamps and the Thai Non-B. American consulate booked up until next Tuesday in CM.

A lot of unfortunate circumstance. I thought a month would be enough to do it all, but obviously should have started as soon as I got back with the non-B and all of this would be avoided.

Depends on the officers, front desk or back. They might accept the fine, or they might tell you that you need to leave for a new visa.
