Bank statement for retirement visa

Featured Replies

For 16 years I have got my bank statement at a convenient time for me - any time up to a couple of months before the visa due date, and it has never been queried. This year, on arrival at the desk after a 3 hour queue I was informed that my bank statement was out of date, and must be no more than 7 days old. So back to the bank today, who were most sympathetic and provided a new statement free. A whole day wasted with bureaucracy. Be warned!!

I assume you were at immigration applying for an extension of stay based upon retirement not at an embassy or consulate applying for a visa.

I have never heard of any immigration office accepting a letter from the bank 2 months old. Most reports have been that one week is the most and at some offices i or 2 days is the requirement.

By my latest retirement extension at Jomtien 22 sept., i asked the lady officer , and she said up to 3 days old she accept .

OP, please let us know if you're qualifying with the full 800K baht method or the COMBO method.

I assume you are not qualifying based on an income only method.

For a method needing banked money (either 800K or combo), no, I have never heard of a very old (as in over a week) bank letter being accepted.
