I just read Confessions of a Wall Street Analyst by Daniel Reingold and although it is about the late 90 boom and bust, it good me hooked on the genre.

Any good books you can recommend about the 2008 financial crises?

"Griftopia" by Matt Taibbi is a real eye-opener and I found it hard to put down. Be forewarned that it is not a "feel good" book and will leave you quite pissed off.

Paul Krugman's "Stop This Depression Now" is mainly directed toward policy solutions, but he gives a clear account of how the crisis of 2008 came about. Not an insider's account with colorful detail, but an overview of the economic problem.
